Luedke Foundation

On December 1, 1999, New York State approved my application for a non-profit organization and the Walter and Edward Luedke Memorial Foundation was officially established. The WEL Foundation has been created in memory of my two brothers, Walter and Eddie.

As you may know, every September, I organize the Walter Luedke Memorial Golf Classic. All of the funds from this event are used to support a local charity in remembrance of Walter. This year the outing is scheduled for September 29th at the Golf Club at Mansion Ridge in Monroe, NY.

In memory of Eddie, I have endowed an annual scholarship that is awarded to graduates of Washingtonville High School who have demonstrated excellence and plan to pursue a career in public health or medicine. This scholarship is supported by private donations. Henceforth, both will be managed by the WEL Foundation.

I hope to expand the work of the foundation as community needs arise. My vision is to reach people in a personal way, and the foundation allows me more latitude and possibility in doing so.
